The Challenge:
Since 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced thousands of businesses to go digital in order to stay connected with their customers. To stay competitive as a marketing agency that primarily provides digital solutions for small to medium businesses, Balla Media needed to adapt its mission, values and brand identity as well. As Google Partners, it was equally important for the agency to form a simple, modern brand that connects to multiple audiences. The rebrand would require a modern logo in line with core messaging, a new website accompanied by an increasing social media presence, and marketing materials with an updated list of services.
The Solution:
After various Jamboard sessions with the team, we decided to present Balla Media as an agency that stays ahead of the curve by providing innovative solutions with lightspeed customer service. This future-focused terminology reminded us of our classic sci-fi movies that were not only imaginative, but often quite literally out-of-this-world. The team also wanted to highlight the collaborative side of their project management between different departments and agency clients. This led to our core messaging: “WE are extraordinary”.
The logo was initially going to be a UFO or alien symbol with the more saturated, bold wordmark next to it. Instead, we decided to run with the wordmark being circled by an animated gradient comet for videography projects, and simplified wordmark for all other purposes.
Meet Club Balla
Instead of choosing to showcase a conventional “Meet the Team”, we tried to highlight the various personalities and strengths of the people that contribute to Balla Media’s success. Teamwork is a core value that helps the agency provide quality service, regardless of what project they choose to undertake. In the title video (as shown to the right), Balla Media is introduced as “WE” - not just an agency, but a collective of people.
Additionally, the hiring page features an eclectic animated neon GIF - Club Balla - showcasing the more relaxed, friendly, creative side of the agency.
